Removing windscreen frame

You should get a copy of the workshop manual or/and spare part catalog
see http://www.vitessesteve.co.uk/Servicemanuals.htm

You will have to remove the 3 bolts at the lower edge/dash top. Then the frame is secured by two brackets in the a-post; unscrew a nut on the inside (you might have to take out parcel trays to access). Then - gently - slide the complete frame up backwards.

The two brackets sandwich the frame support tube
There are two nuts and bolts that clamp the bracket to the tube ,which is in turn held to the bracket by a nut and washer
However the tube clamp can sometimes be corroded to the frame tube and may need a bit of brute force as well as a hammer/mallet

I hope the dashtop can be fitted without having to remove the screen frame because my frame is welded in  :(

This looks possible as long as the rubber seal can be lifted and the new vinyl can be slipped under and stuck down! Although I bet its damn fiddly with the windscreen frame in place. I will bite the bullet and remove the frame I think
