junkuser Posted March 11, 2008 Share Posted March 11, 2008 I have a Facet 574A pump, no information on it and no luck on the Net.Are these designed to lift (Mount above fuel level) or push (Mount below fuel level)?Not sure if this is the pump referred to in other threads as Silver Top.Trying to work out best position for it in "Mk1" Spit 4 as the car is not used very often now and priming carbs with the mechanical is a bit of a pain.Any helpfull comments appreciated, Mal. thealligator Posted March 11, 2008 Share Posted March 11, 2008 As with all Spitfires you find that fuel will siphon, to the lift pump once you have started it to flow.Anyway facet fuel pumps generally like to be as near to the tank as possable so as to push.Facet 574A, 12 volts, maximum pressure 4.0 psi and has an internal mesh filter accessible by removing cam lock bottom cap and requires a fuse 10 amp.
