I'm playing about with Team Numbers to try and make sense of them, they will probably change again - sorry! -
RBRR 2018 IMPORTANT NOTICE
Jason replied to Tim Bancroft's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
For those of you who can't see the "ENTER" button or who have managed to get into the new site but had to create a new account to do so I think we've figured out what's gone wrong. By design the system should have imported your old details BUT for some of you it did not (and we don't really know why but suspect it's nuances with your credentials, spaces, capitals, punctuation, etc). So what you have is a sort of half arsed account without a membership number etc. So, when you come to enter the system does not recognise you as a member. Here's a potential fix, Sign in to https://clubtriumph.ltd Go to your Profile page, then to Settings and then to Access member details Now fill in the form and click to submit, it should pull through your details from the database. If there’s an issue it will send details to Keith so he can sort it. -

You may see some status changes as we work through the list. If you were on the phantom reserve list please do the following; Sign in to https://clubtriumph.ltd Go to you profile page, then go to the event entry. Go to 'settings' then 'edit entry details' Go through and check / amend your entry and you will be taken to the payment screen at the end Once completed, you will then become submitted like everyone. -

Just to allay fears - there's no reserve list, the system has a counting issue and that's why the team numbers are all over the shop - don't worry, we aren't into the reserve list until we get to 140 entries. We will tidy it up now, there are a few abandoned transactions in there and I will go through and remove them. So far we have about a 10% error and issues rate - we are working through them. -

Don't worry - how do you mean "reserve spot"? what have you got that makes you think that? The ceiling for entries is set at 140, there's no reserve list (unless we've got a hangup from an earlier version of the system!) -

The system does not verify email addresses so it makes no judgement on who to send to - if you say your email address is fluffy@numnum.com it will gleefully send an email out - what happens to it in the interweb is anyone's guess. It does what it's told and yes, Hotmail is a petulant provider but our system has not put it on the naughty step and will treat it just the same as any other address.! Some update from last night and observations about problems. The server stayed up and didn't crash, it was running at 100% so users saw some very slow response times. Users did get impatient and keyboards were mashed, we had a few duplicates and we will refund anyone who paid twice. Most issues were caused by a lack of preparation by users who chose to sign in for the first time at the busiest period and then got frustrated because they didn't get an Amazon like experience - the system was designed and set up by a couple of amateurs on a tight budget, we could have set up to do meet that Amazon like expectation if we'd committed a few more thousand pounds to our cost and passed that on to entrants, we don't want to do that. Many of you have been complementary and patient, thank you. For those experiencing problems here's some generic advice. PLEASE (please!) read page 12 of November's Club Mag, you need to be registered on the web site to get anywhere, your old credentials should have migrated but in case they didn't or you've forgotten them RTFM Inputs are case sensitive Don't just put the same bad details in over and over, you will get locked out Don't let your browser put your password in for you, do it manually If you're using obscure, old or modified browsers try something more conventional - I'm using Chrome (not sure what Keith uses) The address you need is [Sorry, link no longer available] this should take you to the entry list If you don't see an ENTER" button, please ensure the page has loaded, try pressing F5 and refreshing the page Are you actually a member? If your membership has lapsed you will need to sign up or renew - that process is the same as ever and has not changed, Tony Pulis can help with that "In_Payment" means the system has got your entry but there is an issue with the payment - if you get this please contact Keith or I with your name, membership number and the last 4 digits of the card you used. The current team numbering is FUBAR, the coded method of counting could not cope and so we have weird numbering - we will sort this manually over the weekend so expect your numbers to change (please don't ask for a specific number, I won't be able to do that) Do not panic - we are not full yet and will sort out these issues -

RBRR 2018 IMPORTANT NOTICE
Jason replied to Tim Bancroft's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
If you get a status of "in Payment" then we may need to manually check whether the payment has gone through or not. Please email me the last 4 digits of the card you used to pay and I'll check with Keith. All this means is that the entry is on the system but it doesn't know if the payment went through or not (the Lloyds system is a bit tetchy), there will be no problem with the entry. If you see your name in the entry list twice then you may have entered twice, we will check this out and see what's happened, you may have been charged twice and if so we will refund. Finally, entry numbers are provisional and will change - the system (or ma r code) couldn't cope with so many concurrent users so entry numbers are a little weird at the moment, when the rush dies down we'll sort it out (when we do, you'll each get an email as the real entry number is allocated). We are not going to make any changes tonight whilst the system is under heavy load! It has not fallen over, what is happening is we are using all the available (paid for) processor power so stuff is running slowly and your browser could time out. However, if your name is on the list just go back in an edit the entry, please don't create a new one or you may get charged twice! -

https://clubtriumph.ltd Do not worry about the entry numbers, they are provisional, I have to go through and approve all these entries manually and will confirm the numbers when I do. -

The first three entries are the top charity fund raisers of 2016. We offered a prize of free entry to the top 3 and that's them - I put them in as 'Admin', I then signed in as a punter and added my own entry. This took 12 mins from start to payment confirmation (email received). This represents a quantum leap in organisation for us so please, be patient and don't fret. It'll be alright in the end, if it isn't, then it isn't the end! -
safeguarding the future of the RBRR
Jason replied to JohnD's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
I think the debate is healthy, we do take notice every time it comes and try and keep a balance between the event being a challenge and being too easy. I've often said that the RBRR is a difficult endeavor, both for the car and crew - it is supposed to be tough. We expect failures, I have experienced that, in fact most of the organising team have. We don't want it to be life or death tough but we don't want it to be a Sunday drive with champers and 3 course meals, that's another event entirely. I encourage the debate but I also encourage tolerance, there are those who walk amongst us who collect train numbers and Pokemon cards (real and virtual) there are those who like to dangle from elastic bands off bridges or jump out of aeroplanes or off mountains - there's room for them all and a little tolerance is good, no matter how mad they appear. If there are members who don't want to do the RBRR but would like to create some alternative then I know that Tim and the RBRR team or Ellis and the 10CR team would only be too pleased to chat it through and offer help and guidance (none would probably want to get involved but advice we offer freely) just because I don't want to meander through the Cotswolds between tea shops and market towns doesn't mean that I don't respect others wishes to do that. Quite the opposite, as a Club we like to see members out and about in club cars as much as possible. The event will always evolve but slowly, and in a considered way, whilst trying to retain the challenge and sense of achievement we all get from driving round in a circle for 2 days in an obsolete car with smelly mates(think)- 118 replies

Nick - in the absence of an "official" answer I think it's safe to say cars can be double (and even triple) driven - if they are up to it The emphasis is on getting as many out on the track as possible so any slight rules issues can and will be dealt with pragmatically - it is after all our event so if we want to vary something I'm sure we can!

Adding drivers to an entry.
Jason replied to RMC590L's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
No forms needed, money talks Send me a cheque for the extra fee with your entry number on the back and a note with details of the additional crewman. I'll acknowledge and update the entry list. -
Having had a couple of entries go missing in the post (the correct address always helps) I would encourage anyone who has put an entry in and not had an email from me, to check the list on-line and get in touch with me via email. We are now operating a reserve list and the intention is to make a final decision 2 months before the start as to how many, if any, of the remaining reserve list we can fit in. I had a few entries in over Christmas and have not fully updated all the details on-line yet but entrant names are there for all the forms I've received. Apologies but I've just figured out that I can't see the entry list myself as my employers security settings won't allow Google drive access! http://ctrbrr.blogspot.co.uk/p/blog-page_16.html should get you to the list.

Not directed at anyone in particular but PLEASE don't send me PM's on here about the RBRR, it's really hard to tie them up with which entry on the list it's from and I can't just hit reply on my phone/tablet to respond. TO get in touch just email me chinn at ntlworld dot com. Also, if you have a query about entry DO PLEASE ask me - I've had emails from every far flung corner of the CT empire lately, some sent to email addresses I didn't know we had. If you ask other Club officers there may well be a delay in getting to me. If you're on the list and have not had an email from me or Tim then you need to do a couple of things - First check your spam folder - if it's not there then please email me (that way I have your email address!) and I will resend the welcome email - don't worry, it's not anything vital just a welcome to the RBRR. It is important that we have the right details on file for you so please do make sure emails are getting through. As I have to read and transcribe all these email addresses off entry forms into my entry list, mistakes get made so I need your help to debug those errors. Thanks!

Sorry I've been a little absent from the forum, just catching up now. Cheques and paper - yes it's old school, I'm thinking that if people want to pay via other means we should allow them and put a £10 surcharge on for the hassle it'll present us with unless we can come up with a decent automated way of doing it that allows a fully on-line process. By that I mean a process that will only accept a fully completed and paid for entry before accepting and allocating an entry number. I'm all for progress and using technology but a cheque and paper still represents the best way for a low tech, volunteer team to administer the entries. If anyone has any practical solutions then please shout out, if anyone runs or knows how to run an e-commerce solution then again get in touch. Entry numbers - yes we're now over subscribed at 140 entries and at next weekend's progress meeting I am going to move that we start a reserve list for subsequent entries. We will find it very difficult to accommodate 140 cars, 130 is about the most we think we can cope with so we are now oversubscribed even accounting for the inevitable drop outs prior to the start. We have always said that we will try and accept every car and crew that wants to come out on the RBRR but reality bites at these numbers. This is especially tricky given the uncertainty over the Plough, I don't like "hoping" things will be OK and I don't like not having a back-up or contingency - makes me nervous. At the moment I'm feeling we're running without a back up plan if the Plough cant or won't cope with us starting there. I know the membership will bear with us if things go awry and I may be worrying unnecessarily - I hope I am but again, I don't like hoping It's not just the Plough of course, food stops are bottle necks where the whole field will converge over 2 hours and want feeding, both stops are hard pushed to cope so we have to be careful not to overload them with hungry Triumph folk - remember this and be sensible there please! Anyway, I have to say "Thank you" to all the entrants, most forms were fully completed, most came to the right address, most even had the right postage, a lot had legible email addresses too (this is now one of the biggest pains, de-bugging email addresses that 'bounce'). All in all it's been a hectic registration process - I am REALLY grateful for the help of Tim and Andy from the organising team who helped process entry forms at the peak of demand.

Dinner duties done and Mr C tucked up in bed so I have been at the RBRR list again, we're up to No 85 now - here's the skeleton list 1 Carl Shakespeare 2 Mark Bulford 3 Mike Weaver 4 Roger Keys 5 Francis Moll 6 Andrew Moll 7 Andy Roberts 8 Dave Ashe 9 Ashley Mills 10 Danny Baker 11 James Cooper 12 Doug Thompson 13 Jason Chinn 14 Tim Bancroft 15 Julian Wadsworth 16 Juan Salinas 17 Rob Pearce 18 Jonathan Clegg 19 Chris Davison 20 Nicholas Marston 21 Dave Maton 22 Steve Povey 23 Kevin Cain 24 Steve Radley 25 Chris Allen 26 Dave Allen 27 David Jackson 28 Floyd Pattie 29 Dave Langrick 30 Ted Taylor 31 Lester French 32 Antony Campion 33 Andy Cook 34 Dave Kirk 35 Andrew Johnson 36 Mike Alldridge 37 Reg Barton 38 Roy Lacey 39 David Aspinall 40 Alan Chatterton 41 Craig Bennett 42 Tim Hunt 43 Wayne Scott 44 Jonathan Pryce 45 Clive Senior 46 Sean Bradley 47 Aleksandar Krstenic 48 Colin Radford 49 Simon Long 50 Richard Smith 51 Patrick McNaught 52 Dale Barker 53 Chris Andrews 54 Jonathan Harley 55 Alistair Vincent 56 Dave Harvey 57 Dave Walker 58 Tom Key 59 Andrew Pearce 60 Laurence Jones 61 Karen Whiting 62 Anthony Quick 63 Andrew Howorth 64 Robert Horner 65 Keith George 66 Stewart Marsden 67 Mark Bland 68 Nick Cahill 69 Yossarian Gay 70 Tom Overton 71 Colin Wake 72 Peter Fern 73 Matthew Richardson 74 Steven Burrows 75 Howard Hayes 76 Jon Fallowell 77 Dave Nix 78 Anthony Davies 79 Mark McLean 80 Richard Warr 81 RayNugent 82 Simon Hicks 83 Matt George 84 Ian Pearce 85 Mike Carroll Dicky - I'm usually the last to put an entry form together, I mean, who's gonna chase me up? As for being entry number 1, to be honest, I like to see who gets their entry in first, it's usually a hand delivered one but not always. This year I didin't get my magazine until the Monday so I was receiving entries before I had a chance to enter. Of course as Danny said, I wasn't here so couldn't send myself what I didn't have (I think I need a lie down now). Andy should be able to publish the full crew and car details on the blog now. When I have a few more moments I'll sort out an email to all entrants to welcome and confirm but the above is as official as it gets at the moment.

Unfortunately I can't work on the entry list on my work laptop as the security settings prevent me getting to Google Drive or my personal email account. Through a little lateral thinking I can however share the bare bones entry list. This was updated yesterday with all the forms I'd received, there may be more on the door mat today I'll be at the NEC on Saturday if anyone wants to hand me an entry form.
