    Stuck clutch?

We have a Herald that has been parked up for a few years. I cannot engage gear. The pedal was really hard. The clutch master cylinder was showing signs of leaking so I have replaced it with a new one, and I have also replaced the slave cylinder with a new unit. Having bled the clutch, I now have a pedal that feels ok, but when I try and engage gear with the engine running, it won't engage. Before I remove the gearbox, can anyone advise what the issue might be, how to fix it, or suggestions on what to do next!
  3. @Nick Jones - Would also consider a mechanical micrometer - I guess I was just being lazy!
  4. Can anyone recommend a decent digital micrometer? For convenience, I'm considering this one from Screwfix, or is it no good? https://www.screwfix.com/p/magnusson-digital-vernier-callipers-6-150mm/7093v Cheers Craig
  5. I'd also like to thank @ferny for jump starting my car more than once. Cheers Pete!
  6. A great weekend catching up friends old and new. A big thank you to @Cliveorganising the Club Triumph contingent for the show.
  7. Hi Steve. We can remove your forwarding address from the club.triumph.org.uk account if it becomes an issue?
  8. Apologies for necroposting, but I think we got there. @Ben Hutchingsis doing a brilliant job bringing over the old forum content.
  9. The way I understand it, if it was on the old server, we have migrated it over. Unfortunately, some threads on the old server were already missing their images. I'm not suggesting we start a log roll of missing image threads, but I'm sure @Ben Hutchings will be able to advise and/or confirm which threads are devoid of their images.
  10. Here's a tag just to be sure! @Nick Moore

    Fosse Way

    Weapon of choice...
  12. Anyone going north via the Fosse Way? I join just south of Cirencester if you want to meet up?
  13. The cap is flat. You stand it on the cap end?
  14. ok, I'll bite. The toothpaste tube isn't actually a tube, it is a right circular conoid. The volume at the cap end is far greater than the volume at the squashed flat end, so the last of the tube does appear to last much longer. The important question though, is why is toothpaste still sold in cardboard boxes, when the opening of the tube already comes with a tamper proof top.

  16. This post is kind of Triumph related. I love my Triumphs, but I also love my garden. I am in the process of clearing part of the garden to build a car port to store Sarah's Herald. Where the car port is going to go, we used to have our compost bays and spare top soil. In the process of moving them, it made sense to sift out all the stones and other crap. I have about three tonnes to shift, so decided to make the job and bit easier and built this soil sifter. It gets me one step closer to getting the car port up and the Herald under cover.
  17. For anyone who missed it, great programme on BBC4 last night starring our very own Herald Fan, Chris Allen aka @heraldhabitat To celebrate the award of UK City of Culture 2021 to Coventry, local boy Mark Evans tells the full history of the classic cars made in Coventry, This passionate retrospective runs from the industry's beginnings in 1897 through to the present day and includes interviews and archive footage detailing the stories behind the creation of classic marques such as the Daimler, the Triumph, the Riley and the Jaguar and the companies and people behind them https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000w6sp/classic-british-cars-made-in-coventry
  18. As we slowly come out of lockdown, here's a Google Map of each local group's meeting place(s). You can view it on the local groups index page here: https://www.clubtriumph.co.uk/groups/ or open it in its own window here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1sAPeFR_8aZYHftw9zllJm6xfvpIyNraz&ll=53.43541524919956%2C-2.743369900000014&z=7 Enjoy
