  1. If you are going to Stoneleigh ask anyone to lift the bonnet and let you peruse all you need
  2. You say the black pipes have " fuel on them "....that is irrelevant , its what the pipes do which is important , every one has a different attitude to what they fit to engines, fuel line ,air line etc As Rob says....those black pipes are the breathers that go to emission controls and the 1/4" inch tubes at the carb floats are inlet pipes that go to the pump. So, you should have a 1/4 fuel tubing from pump, to the first carb float , a rubber or copper tube from the first carb float leading to the second float . I can now see that the accelerator linkage is blocking view....the two black emission tubes should attach to the rocker cover outlet pipe
  3. I would have liked to enter this event, but it clashes.....We would have a 3.5 hr drive from the Club Dinner venue South of Hemel Hempstead at which we will be attending and staying ,the night before(which will also be our wedding anniversary). So there is no way I could get to the start at Hull on time.

  8. We have completed quite a bit of organisation already on this year`s event and well ahead on any previous years. It will be a special event of a decade of cracking runs, from first, inaugural run of The BR . The Saturday overnight stop hotel will have more facilities for you to enjoy,. and if you feel like a bit of exercise, before or after dinner, bring along your lycra and swim gear!
  9. Ever seen a flat cap skimming across the Aire and Calder?
  10. Typical....like waiting for buses....nothing.. and then three all come at once Was promising to go on this years `Chinese`......however its club dinner night.....on the same night as our wedding anniversary......So which do I choose?🤔
  11. Anyone going to the Club Dinner ,March 18th, that would be returning home to any where near Sunbury on Thames? Have a rare Acclaim window glass that need to go down there.....but being rare and glass, anything could happen by courier...just need a bit of CT care
  12. The official workshop manual shows pics of the drifting on of the bearing with no mention of any other tool
  13. Sorry slip of the finger, didnt notice, 70 mm
  14. The only tool you would need is a ruler....the bearing is drifted on with tube and mallet....and that is it. Been doing it this way since the early `70`s
  15. If you mean the measurement of the distance between the end of half shaft to face of bearing carrier(?), I have always pushed the bearing carrier on the shaft until it measures 170mm from those two points. No need for a tool

Well said.....and after all every driver knows the idiosycracy`s within his own car, so its up to each owner to recognise the best way for his car

You should notice a reduction by around 300/500 RPM....not ,as stated , losing power when operating the o/d To alleviate any `snatching` when flicking the switch, I like to use the clutch . Less strain on all aspects of drive train
