  1. Thank you Roger. Looking forward to the event and also meeting up with everyone again. 🙂
  2. I believe Mr Wake is organising this one, so cant compete. So, is anyone free to navigate for me? If not I'll have have to settle for a freezing cold layby marshalling instead. 🙂
  3. You need to make a decision by the Essex meet on Tuesday Mr Wake!!!!!! 🙂
  4. I thought people from there called it St (Saint) Reatham to sound posher? 🙂
  5. I'm interested, but have no navigator. Anyone interested?
  6. Roger, You have your first UK entrants! 🙂 Will Pm you with some questions regarding entry forms etc...
  7. Hi Pete, Flo is the name for the Pi. I have lots of many other different names for my co-driver. 😀 Also, after a very helpful visit from Mr Wake today, my starting issue turned out to be nothing to do with fuel pressure, or current while cranking, but a gradually expiring electronic ignition distributor. Fitting my spare lumenition one had the car starting straight away! 🙂 (Many thanks Colin by the way, if you are reading this. 🙂 )
  8. Thanks Mike. Yes, we did. It was a shame because the car was absolutely on song when running. It just wouldn't start again when switched off. Three people I have spoken to now all suspect it to be a fuel pressure problem. Hence why my rare day off today will be used to fit my refurbished Lucas fuel pump. Hopefully, that will resolve the issue before I go to Wales at the end of the month. Thanks for the tow start yesterday. 🙂
  9. Oi! Do you mind. It's Gertie's sister actually (Flo) 🙂 Yes, she didn't really want to start before I left home actually, so I should have swapped to Gertie then. By the time I got home, she still wouldn't start and I had to push her into the garage. The electrics all seem fine, so I think it's possibly low fuel pressure. Investigations to follow. Hope everyone else had a great day and enjoyed the roads. 🙂
  10. Not only would you lose the breakfasts at JOG & LE, but you would also lose the enjoyment and buzz of so many enthusiasts being in the same place at the same time A massive thing of the RBRR for me personally is meeting everyone at the start and again (hopefully) at the finish. I look forward to the start & finish just so I can meet people that I only normally see on these or similar events. I think having different start and finish points would lose something special from the event.
  11. In 2018 I plan to use my Mk1 Pi, so: Resolve the offside rear vibration, tidy the bodywork up and start reading up on the Lucas Injection system. Oh, and start saving up for petrol now
  12. So I've got from now until Nov 6th to get the heater fixed. 🙂 Can we not have as much rain as we had on this event last year Mike? 😉
  13. Hi, oil levels are fine. Overdrive now working. When I removed the gearbox to change the clutch, the solenoid wasn't done up all the way on the top bolt and the solenoid was sitting crooked, so stupidly I tightened it. This had obviously been done for a reason because as soon as I had tightened it, the overdrive no longer worked. So, a long morning (and early afternoon) session of trial and error and finally......correct adjustment and we now have a working overdrive! Team Gertie are finally good to go. 🙂
  14. Double checked the wiring and now changed the solenoid, but the overdrive still isn't working. =( More investigations tomorrow.
  15. Oh dear, not a good night. Came in from the garage at 10.15pm with the overdrive still not working. It now appears to be mechanical rather than electrical. Funny, it was working before we removed the gearbox to change the clutch. (Although it was sometimes slow to engage.) More investigations when time allows
  16. Removing the pedal box is about 10 or 12 bolts including the master cylinder and servo isn't it?
  17. Radders

    Crank job

Thats where it was on the two Mk2's I've had. That was before I saw the light and moved onto Mk1's of course. 😉
