I noticed that the air valve seemed tighter on with the screws tight. I thought they needed to be tight down to stop air leaks?

Thanks for the reply, it all came apart and all given a damn good clean. The Choke (manual on these) came out and was cleaned too. Hello everyone here for some ideas on Carb Problems. For the first time since the car was on the road (a long time ago) I ran the engine up to temperature. When warm I thought i would check the mixture and timing. Timing easily adjusted with the use of my Gunson light with timing advance function. The carb though is another issue. I rebuilt this carb with service kit, not included was a new metering needle or jet. I put in a new seals and gaskets needle valve for the float chamber. Now I tested the carb mixture by lifting the air valve slightly the engine picked up noticeably so I back off the screw on the base, no change, again , no change ... in fact which ever way i went the mixture wouldn't lean off screwing up or down. Took the carb off, floats fine, no holes , checked needle valve by blowing down the inlet , no noticeable leaks. Floats 18mm above flange of carb body. Diaphragm fine... Is it time for a new jet and metering needle or should i be checking something else?

My horn seems to be possessed in that it sounds when the wheel is turned. Clearly this is an earthing issue anyone have a clue as to where is the best place to look?

dont jack the chassis on the 'dips' water congregate there and rust follows

Got the panel today, it is very basic, most is pressed, the stepped bit is spot welded on. Two pieces need to be welded into place for the chassis connections. The bumper bits have to be riveted on as well.... But it was cheaper!!!!

I can confirm I have ordered at £129 price, which they tell me it is due to go up at the beginning of October. Just figured the fit will be better, plus I can get to the MOT tester earlier!

Its for a vitesses/1360 no lip jut a scalloped front edge. Quiller have the steel ones for £129 plus VAT think i might just flex the credit card!

That's the bracket I can't get it to fit on. I was wondering if some one has a photo of a fibreglass balance fitted to a 13/60.

Not even to that issue! I am just trying to get it to fit on to the brackets at the rear of the overriders. I am wondering if i was supplied with a 1200 valance but don't know the difference. I know the fit isn't as good as steel but that isn't an issue at the moment as a rolling resto will be on going. I could do with a pic of a fitted Fibreglass one, if someone can oblige! This one came from Honeybourne. The cheapest steel one i have found is £129 +VAT

I know there are differing opinions on Fibreglass vs steel, however i have opted fibreglass for the valances and sills on my 13/60. The price of the steel front valance is too much at the mo! I am having a devil of a job fitting the fibreglass one though, could anyone oblige with pictures of a fitted one?

Just to bump an old thread I have a bonnet hinge type of question; What is the sequence of washers/spacers/tie rod arms if some one can explain or a pic would be fab!

figured they would, when i visited they seemed pleasant and my dealings i found them very honest. I cannt help with a spare though, trying to get mine MOT tested

if you call Honeybourne they will probably make you one, i visited them, its a small friendly honest outfit

I fitted the rear fibreglass ones they are fine , not the same as metal but fine for MOT , IMHO. I called Honeybourne mouldings and arranged to collect they offered me discount. They gave me a spit tunnel which i didnt notice until i got home,they sent me out a herald one Free of charge and told me to keep the other tunnel!
