    Logic Overdrive

hogie the A type overdrive on my earlier triumph was wired by the previous owner,  in this case overdrive in second wasnt higher than straight third, i was thinking is there a way to get overdrive in the forward gears but not in reverse without the extra inhibitor switch?

    Logic Overdrive

I remember now my earlier mk2 had overdrive in all gears including reverse, but had no inhibitor switch fitted for second gear  obviously no good in reverse, but isnt there a way to wire in overdrive for second gear with out the extra inhibitor switch?

    Logic Overdrive

Hi dazzer im very interested in this ive already got a logic overdrive box fitted to the A type gearbox in my mk2 2500 it works as it should but only in third or fourth gear bought it from ebay, does the revington tr kit work in second gear as wired to the instructions you get with it? is this the corrrect part no RTR1001k thanks
  5. CTM Performance engineering Dagenham, ive used used them 3 times trust wothy and did a very good job on time, they dont fit engines though 🙂
  6. Thurston engineering Ongar Essex, but not sure if they fit engines think they only recon them,
  7. Ian  no what you mean about the price i had the same thing when looking for the alfa front seats for my mk2 saloon but breakers yards are your best bet, i did own a mg zr diesel for a while the seats are very comfortable but the leather on the leather seats isnt good quality, i recon may be some alfa 147 seats might do the job have a look round your local breakers yards they will be cheaper than ebay
  8. Have a look round at MGF front seats or smaller alfa romeo two door model seats. dont no about there colour match but reckon they could fit your toledo
  9. The two things that come to mind for me are if your not using your car  keep it parked out of the sun ie under a car port and give it a good coat of wax also wash it dry to get rid of all the pollutants
  10. what you call the curved guide  under the rear propshaft flange is the compensator you can take it off buy removing the split pin and then remove the pin its self, then put the cable into it 🙂
  11. from what ive read you need to make flange bar,  a suitable length of tube or angle iron   with 2 bolts welded on the end to fit the flange once this is fitted it will jam on the concrete under your car when the flange is turned,to get better access can you not undo the rear gearbox mounts and lower the rear end of the gearbox on a trolly jack, to udo the nut you will need an impact wrench or a long half inch drive bar for the socket
  12. hi i like the look of the black overdrive gearknob in your blog where did you buy it?

    carb syncrometer

Yes thats the price they  seem to sell for, was looking last year for one but it wouldnt fit between the drivers side suspension turret and front carb on my mk2 2500, so ended up buying a Uni-Syn type from ebay there around £20 🙂
  14. Yes il stick with 25mm2 cable im going to run it inside the car and fit an isolator switch, ive just got to see if the 25mm2 cable will go through a grommet just to the left of the steering collum 🙂
  15. Thanks Ferny voltplanet very helpfull web site i found the calculator for cable sizes just need to find out the amperage draw of my statermotor  under load
  16. Ive found 3m of 20mm2 weiding cable 135 amp could i use this as its a bit thinner and easier to fit
  17. ok thanks Ted hope the knee opp goes well
  18. Im planing on moving the battery to the boot of my mk2 2500, ive got a few metres of arc welding cable in t he garage which is marked with 25 i presume this is 25 mm2 is this ok to use as the positive cable from the battery to the starter motor, other wise ive seen 110 amp or 170 amp battery cable for sale, but i think it wont be as flexible as the welding cable, which cable and what amperage should i use, any advice appreciated
  19. the huco pump i bought and fitted in the engine bay of my mk2 has the part no 133010 the instructions said this model is only suitable for fitting in the engine bay and works at 1.4 psi,   huco do make a fuel pump that fits near the fuel tank though, but i thinks you would have trouble in fitting it under the hard board boot covers due to its size its about 125mm deep by 75mm diameter and i dont think it will work on its side but i could be wrong
  20. i mounted my huco pump on the side of the battery tray. the end of the tray nearest the disributor 🙂
