  1. thanks for the article on compression ratios very useful, as i intend to use a kent cam th7 with 300 duration, and to tame it i have a megasquirt setup. i think it wont need too much of a skim to get it right
  2. Hi i have just removed the head of my tr6 cf prefix engine, and found it appears to have had a recent rebuild with 0.30 hepolite pistons, and a very tidy bore. The current  cylinder head is an 516816 i have a refurbished 219016 cylinder head are they compatible as is or, will it need to be skimmed down to correct the compression? i am intending on using a fast road cam and perhaps roller rockers
  3. so the car came back in its shiny new coating just before xmas, have been busy in the garage on the rebuilding bit..... its amazing how much you need to replace.

  9. what a lot of people seem to be forgetting is that there really aren't that many left, and people do like to see them, prices are steadily climbing. The amazing work of getting the panels made is going to preserve the mark. There should be special recognition of the work going into this from Club Triumph and the saloon register. It is easy to forget that we are in a whacking great economic depression at present i suspect prices will probably start to climb more over the next 5-10 years. I would not sell mine in a hurry, i was tempted to fund my TR6 resto but i just could not bring myself to part with my PI
  10. I am at the not so soul destroying stage of trial fitting the panels after rebuilding the bodytub and the chassis, progress has been good, it may even have a visit to the bodyshop soon for paint..... there a still a few small areas that need some attention but i think the worst is over now. even started to build the megasquirt system. the plan is to have it back on the road in march ready for its new (now free) tax disc.....

  12. i have a copper headgasket in the loft, if needed.
  13. i would need the inner arches too, thats why my repaired outers are starting to bubble again due to water being trapped.
  14. i'm in the market for mk2 front wings or wheel arch repair sections. prepared to pay a deposit if it helps
  15. the saga continues.... moved onto the bulkhead section this weekend, it would appear that when it was converted to RH drive a skin of steel was placed over the bulkhead section behind the battery as a bodge! to make matters worse the plenum was rusty and has leaked in-between the two skins of steel, no guesses what happened next, as you can see there is not a lot left of the bulkhead section where the water sat.... took me a while but I managed to fettle a new sectioni will be repairing the rusty edge on the water drain next, thinking of using fibreglass in the bottom channel to stop water contacting the metal? any thoughts on this?it is sound apart from the very edges that I have welded just don't want water sat in the joins in future.

  19. alas more progress over Easter, I have nearly cracked the installation of neew floor pans and sills, just some minor fettling to do, and small repair to the bulkhead..... at this rate it may even get a new lick of paint this year and see the road before Xmas..... I have never done this level of panel beating before, youtube is wonderfull tool to the novice. the only down side is that my industrial sized spot welder has pulled a muscle in my back..........

  21. Another thing to watch out for is a blocked filter in the overdrive pump, this can be removed by taking the O/D cover off, clean the first filter, then under one of the three socket type covers (use a set of pointed pliers to remove) is a nother filter that is probably quite full of crud, this also stops the overdrive working, It should be cleaned occasionally anyway. I would suggest ordering a new gasket before you disturb it! If the unit does come to life, fit the uprated over drive vlalve that chris wittor (and maybe other?) sells it makes a huge difference to the engagement of the overdrive, especially if it is putting out higher than normal amounts of torque.
  22. I have been doing a fair amount of searching for a definitive list of parts for an EFI setup on my PI and TR6, having seen Nick's saloon running superbly with a conversion, i think it is the only way to go on mine, haveing had varied success reconditioning the lucas setup. So does anybody have an idiots guide to creating an EFI setup sor a saloon or TR6. So far i have ordered; -vauxhall omega coil pack. -Edis 6 and plug thinking of ordering - trigger wheel - trigger wheel sensor - air flow meter - fuel rail (where can i get ?) - Megasquirt kit (not sure which one i need) - rover mg 52mm throttle body. all ready have a bosch pump and regulator with new style fuel filter any help would be appreciated. thanks
  23. my headlining came from park lane classics, and was a good fit and quality.
