    rover 75 seats

would rover 75 electric seats go in a PI?
  3. simple answer is remove the filler from the rotten seam around the bottom of the tailgate?? it will fly open then. (that was the problem with one of my GT6's anyway..... :B)
  4. The Chase Hotel is doing a good deal by late rooms a double room is £67 for the night and it is a stones throw from the pub.
  5. I was very surprised to discover that the Moss do the repair panels I need, (shocked) and the price was acceptable too, having seen my car in sunlight for the first time in 6 months, it is not as bad as it thought probably needs new floor pans, complete sills, bulk head repairs and an o/s inner wing

    tr6 body tub

I am at the soul destroying stage of stripping my tr6 body tub, and am finding more and more holes.... does anybody know where i can get, and how much a rust free body tub would cost? I have got good rear wings doors and bonnet and can probably save the scuttle top and rear boot floor etc the rear inner wings, floors sills and bulk head are too far gone I think Thanks carl

  9. I have a Kent Cam with the markings KC109 stamped on the end, the other markings are 307629 and mc24006 can anyone help to identify this cam, I had it fitted to a 2.5 litre engine that seemed to come alive after 3000rpm
  10. Test drive number 1 completed at the weekend, took the PI to the lakes for a 600 mile shake down....... the overdrive packed up, and I had an air locked injector, kwik call to Dave Saunders diagnosed the box to be a blocked filter in the overdrive, so did a mid way pit stop via friends garage to unblock the filter, this meant I had a full range of gears again. The fuel consumption was alarming with no O/D. a lot better with the overdrive, just need to train the fiancée to keep of the loud pedal..... The Porsche driver nearly SH=t his pants when he saw a PI in his mirror waiting to get past, I need to fix my speedo too as the speedo reads 75 / 80 but the tom tom said more than enough to leave my trailing friend in his golf bluemotion standing??? it begs the question what sort of monster is the PI at full tilt. Really impressed with the car, the oil cooler and kenlowe fan really helped keep it at a nice constant temp on the journey too. Bring on the RBRR....
  11. I have had a few parcels go missing at the post office, only to discover that the posty had not left a calling card and the item was then left at the local post office, its worth driving to your nearest post offices and asking in person if you have not done so already. Royal mail is no longer the great institution that it once was....... :'(
  12. This would be useful for the route pack? the best place around the M5 Gordano service station is actually just of junction 21 at Weston super mare where there is a morrisons and Sainsbury supermarket, most sat navs tell you where the supermarkets are for cheap fuel, but as said previously it is a gamble against time and fuel used. I dread to think how may tanks of fuel I will need...
  13. ok,,, that job was easier than I thought. I just opted for a change of the springs all round as the shocks where in very good condition, just got back from the test drive, WOW what a difference the lowered fast road springs from Chris Witor make (I'm sure other manufacturers ones are just as good) it corners beautifully. why the heck was it not set like that in the factory? the whole appearance is better know its a bit lower too. This should be an essential modification not a luxury one.
  14. found a really good supplier for paint stripper on ebay the shop is called Car Spares (no connection) bought 3 liters of industrial strength paint stripper for £21 which is a fraction of the cost of nitromors. I have decided to paint strip the outer section and engine bay, then shot blast the rusty parts. then see whets left ........ Apparently acid dipping can ruin your tub due to the various nooks and crannies that ooze out acid long after its treated, making it nearly impossible to paint again.
  15. having taken of the wings on my tr6, I have some interesting problems all of which are ok. However I am considering getting the major panels acid dipped has anyone ever done this and how much did it cost? or should I just get them shot blasted? thoughts and opinions and recommendations for the Bristol area welcomed....
  16. ok my pi wallows like the titanic making a sharp turn to avoid an iceberg........ so what are the best everyday road springs to use to sort out the roll...
  17. so far so good..... seems to run fantastic now...…
  18. what a c*ck of a job!!! the very experienced mobile windscreen fitter took 4 hours to fit my last one! the PI two monthe earlier only took 30 minutes. This is not a job for the faint hearted, or for people with a short fuse. However it looks good when done, your fingers will not though! you will need a pointed tool of sorts to lift the rubber into the chrome inch by inch with lots of soapy water.

  20. ok had a good go at the pi today and made some excellent progress at last, got it all balanced up, and then found the timing was set to 8 deg after tdc!!! set it back to 8 before and it seems spot on with no running on.... the timing flickers between 6 and 12 so I think its time for a recon dizzy (funds permitting next month anyway) the car goes much better and is nearly smooth right through the range with the odd misfire, I think that is due to a worn dizzy though.
  21. I am about to start a resto on late tr6, which is the best manual to get for it, and does anybody want to swap a GT6 workshop manual for a tr6 one?
  22. converted to a bosch pmp now and the fuel pressure reads as 90 psi all the time, the car runs well, however it nows runs on when I shut of the ignition, any suggestions as to why this is happening?
  23. well, I have done the conversion..... not had chance to tune and synchronize the butterflies yet, but I still have a spurious back fire and it ran on after I turned it of which it has never done before! I will update more when I have finished collecting my new addition to the family (tr6 with bosch conversion)
  24. the gauge is connected just prior to the metering unit, and the fuel pump can be heard howling away as soon as you hit the throttle, I guess that is when it gets more voltage to play with. It was working fine till last week, after changing it a few weeks ago.
  25. (Forgot you where in the south west nick.... sorry  should have asked you) I have rebuilt one of the PRV's I have spare today, and removed a load of fossilized crud from the brass bit inside it, this may help but, I am still leaning towards a bosch setup, should the fuel pressure rise the faster you go? mine seems to jump to 120 psi when I hit the throttle
