clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I am looking into getting some new alloy wheels for my spitfire and have decided to go for a wide range which means hub adaptors. Can anyone direct me to some traders of such adaptors?Claus
Clive Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 there was a guy on ebay selling them for MGF's, same pcd so should be perfect.
clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Will try to look for it on Ebay hoping to find some. Claus
Deleted User Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 expensive but they sell them herehttp://www.mikesatur.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Wheel_Adapters_5.html
clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Thanks. Unfortunately out of stock at the moment. But I will make an enquiry. Claus
CharlieB Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Don't do it!! Classic cars deserve classic wheels!!Each to their own I suppose ;D
clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Besides looking for the adaptors, I am also looking for Minilite looking wheels and ofcourse a good offer, because I do agree that classic looking wheels are the best.
Nick Jones Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 If you want Minilite style wheels you don't need adaptors as this is one of the (very few) styles you can still buy new with the right PCD and offset.Nick
clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Do you happen to know a cheap supplier? But besides these, there seems not to be such a great range of choices or am I mistaken?Claus
Vinnyfastcar and Carol Lamity Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Bear in mind they will push the wheels out a bit (lot) further, not a prob if you can specify your offset on wheels and compensate (or calculate 2nd hand wheels), but there ain't much room under there!

But besides these, there seems not to be such a great range of choices or am I mistaken? In the UK you could try Midland Wheels: http://www.midlandwheels.com/index.asp & there's a couple of sellers on ebay, or if you want the real Minilites: http://www.minilitewheels.com/index.htmOther styles you can get new include Revolution, Slot Mag (I think) & LeMans replica. Some wheel manufacturers will drill wheels to fit but they tend to cost more.
clausskou Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Thanks. I will have a look at those suppliers. An adaptor would be a second choice, as compensating for the offset makes things more difficult to judge a wheel just by its specs.Claus
Clive Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 MGF are minilight wheels, well, some are. 15" though, but cheap as chips and fit well.
clausskou Posted November 10, 2007 Author Posted November 10, 2007 The existing wheels are 13", but will 15" fit as suggested?
Deleted User Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 ye its been done numerous times, may just need some slight wing modification with a hammer :)
2litre-e Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 if you want those hub adaptors i have a set you can have for half price, i bought them but then decided i didn't need them , something i do at least once a week.they will fit with a small amount of fettling, pm me if you want them.
