triumphspitfire.eu Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Good evening to allyou think of Teflon pads for rear spring (Spitfire mk3) ?Visit this link for better explanation : http://www.triumphspitfire.nl/rearspringpads.htmlMany thanksGiuseppe
Doug Paterson Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 This looks like an interesting idea.I was thinking of replacing rear spring last year but was advised by a well known Scottish Triumph man to give it a miss. The current batches of new springs at the time were proving to be of very poor quality and the advice was to stick with the devil you know. However these pads seem interesting and would allow you to stick with the devil you know as well as getting a little extra height.mmmmmmh - would also be interested in anyone's experiences.
junkuser Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 There should be similar pads available from other cars. When building my Spit 4 in 1976 I used Holden ones which were Nylon.Be aware however that fitting pads decreases the negative camber on the rear wheels and changes the cornering charactoristics so be careful when driving till you get used to it.These cars seem to corner better with negative camber.

But teflon pads are fitted to rear spring already weak. in these cases, perhaps, Teflon pads to show camber right values?
junkuser Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Just meant the cornering may be different to what you were used to, giving you a surprise on your first fast corner.
