iomgt6 Posted February 9, 2018 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Hi all, Gt6 Mk3, I have a noise at the back sounds like uj in the prop shaft worn wup wup wup type of noise is it prop or could there be something else wrong maybe rotoflex coupling (they do look in good condition but car has stood for some time) as I am new to this system I need your considered opinions, thanks Paul Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nick Jones Posted February 9, 2018 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Propshaft UJ would give noise approx 4 x faster than a roto or driveshaft UJ. Problems with propshaft UJs also tend to cause vibration increasing with speed.If it's been standing a while it might be the sound of brake shoes dragging on a partly rusty drum - does the noise change if you pull on the handbrake?Assuming all the roto fixing bolts are tight and it's not got any deep cracks or de-bonding going on I'd discount the rotor itself. Possibly the inner UJ though it's rather hard to spot problems with these as the roto keeps them under a fair amount of tension.Nick Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
