S Cox
I am thinking of changing my GT6 to Cosmic Alloys , my question is will a 6x13 wheel fit the GT6 without fouling the wheel arches .
Clive
Which version of GT6? if mk3 rotoflex or the later swingspring?Really need to post the offset of the wheel too, that is an essential bit of information.
willows40
Years ago had a mk3 gt6 with rotoflex, also an early 1600 vitesse convertible, had a set of cosmics on the vitesse and slots on gt6. Did try to put the cosmics on the gt6 once, but wouldn’t fit on rears as touched the trailing arms. Don’t know what the offset on that set of wheels was and have put cosmics on another gt6 since then without a problem
Nick Jones
I have had both 5.5" and 6" Cosmics on a Mk2 Vitesse (rotoflex). Both sizes were VERY close to the lower wishbone trunnions to the extent that one, which was very slightly distorted, could only be used on the front as it would scrape when cornering if put on the rear. The were relatively inset though - even 5mm spacers would have solved the issue.Nick
S Cox
My GT6 Mk3 its a 1971 Rotoflex I don't know the offset .
Nick Jones
So we also have a Spitfire with roto-ish rear and GT6 front suspension/brakes and standard springs all round. This has 6" alloy wheels (100+ cross-spokes, not Cosmics) with ET 13 fitted with 175/70 tyres. There is loads of room in the arches at the rear (though the lower wishbone trunnions are quite close to the inside of the wheel) but at the front the tyres do catch on the wheel arch lips (at the top) under some conditions.Worth googling ET, offset and backspace so you understand what they are and how to measure them (not difficult). That way you'll be able to measure the wheels if you have them.Small chassis Triumph wheels are typically quoted as ET16 or 25 but you need to be careful with ET figures as they are affected by wheel width (unlike backspace of offset figures) so ET figures are not directly comparable between wheels of different widths.Nick
