Can Triumph Spitfire 1500 seat fit Spitfire mk3

I would like to know if the more comfortable later Spitfire seats will fit into the earlier Spitfire Mk3 car and which GT6 can have these retro fitted?

Also are the Runners the same?

I have MkIV seats in my Mk3 Spitfire. The runners are different and require extra holes in the floor pans (the later ones are a couple of inches wider).

The seats I have are non-recliner but in terms of fitting they are identical to the recliners in my Mk3 GT6 (in fact the seat bases are interchangeable, too). I think the later recliner-with-headrest seats are also identical from chest level down. The very late 1500 seats are slightly different but I'd expect them to share the same runners.

I found that my late Mk3 had 2 sets of holes and captives - one fitted the original mk3 runners and the others fitted some later runners and seats that I fitted for RBRR purposes (recliners)

Later seats when reclined hit the hood frame when fitted to a Mk3, suspect Mk4/1500 frame is slight different.

Or the Mk3 frames I have are bent of course. 🙂

The Mk4 hood frame is definitely different to the Mk3. I'm given to understand that it's possible to fold a Mk4 hood up and down without chopping your head (or the late seat's headrest) off!
