willows40 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi I`m rebuilding a mk1 estate at moment, I`m fitting mk2 front brakes to it, as it has the early disc`s on it at moment, What are the best pads to use? And where to get them fromCheers Andy Quote

CharliesStag Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 In your shoes the above will be fine with RobSport stocking these. I have also used TRW pads in my Stag with good results (CAS sell these). If you really wish to get the best braking from a stock MkII setup I can recommend the Mintex M1144s, but cheap these are not (Around £70). They do give one quite a bit more confidence in braking though! Quote
Pete Lewis Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 in many places it seems its cheaper to convert to stag caliper and disc as they are cheaper just look at rimmers disc and pad kit prices just a thoughtpete Quote
willows40 Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Its getting stag calipers that is the problem, otherwise would of gone the stag routeCheers Andy Quote

Stag and 2000 use the same pads, Looking at the box my pads came in mgb`s also use the same pads, Have greenstuff on my mg, had them on for about 6 years now, only thing i find is that if you take it steady and use the brake gently the brake lose there bite, It only takes a bit of spirited driving to bring them backCheers Andy Quote
