restarting my engine

hi all, i went out in the herald last night and had to make a few drop offs, when i first started the car it fired up lovely, but each time i tried to restart the car it didnt wont to start.

why when the car is cold it starts, fine but when its warm it is hard to start?

Is this a 1200 with a Solex?  Probably float level a bit high .  Fuel expands when hot and overflows through main jets down the carb throat, effectively flooding the thing.

Check and adjust float level as required - in the meantime when starting hot, slowly open the throttle to full then crank until it starts (release throttle as soon as it fires)
