Mk3 Spit Brake Cylinder

Jamie, you should be able to find one - otherwise do a search on ebay. It has an angle  of 90deg. and is a 5/8 bore size; has been used for lots of cars - but you might have to replace the fork with the one you have - see: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-C.....ibJTyH~g&vxp=mtr

...you should be able to find it cheaper though

And then: As a 'nos' - do replace seals before use!

Hi All,

Problem finally solved 🙂

It turns out my brake master cylinder bracket was incorrect as previously suggested.

I purchased the correct bracket (Part No 146413) which has a shallower angle and a hole in each side. My bracket had no holes in the sides and was the same angle as the clutch bracket, causing the reservoir to sit too high.

When the new bracket was fitted along with this 0.625" brake master cylinder the clearance is as it should be.

I had to remove the push rod from the old master cylinder and fit it to the new one which was a 5 second job. Just a case of removing a circlip, greasing and refitting.

Thanks for everyone's help on this, no more reservoir rubbing on the bonnet 😎

Jamie
