sam93
Evening all !Once the weather warms up, I'm going to start all the bodywork restorations that I want to do this year. Near top of my list includes removing both doors & restoring them. My question is how do you remove the rivet which connects the anti burst catch. Obviously, it's just a case of drilling it out. However what do I do when it comes to putting a new rivet in / putting the door back on ?Cheers in advance,Sam.
Stu 1986
Isn't your car a saloon? If so it shouldn't have anti burst catches fitted to it.
herald948
Do you mean the rivet that holds the pin in the check strap? That rivet needs to be drilled out or ground off. A bit of a pain....
sam93
Yeah, I mean the rivet in the middle of the check strap. I'll be able to get it out, however what type of rivet do I need to replace it with ?
