I'm running Toyo 888's  a similar tyre to the Yokohama A048, semi slick trackday tyre.

Perfectly legal for road use, Amazing levels of dry grip and not at all bad in the wet although I'm pretty sure the wet grip will fall off as they wear down.

No issues with that, I will be taking the wheels down minus car ;) I understand it costs less to do it that way...........

Mine were perfectly respectable when I bought the car, I have done less than a 1000 miles and they are shagged. Whilst I expect the new ones to do a higher mileage than that, I do not think that age is gonna come into the equation somehow  8) ;D 8)
