MarkB
Hi AllI think I have asked this before but I have been trying to test a couple of Smiths electronic rev counters that I have had in the loft for years. Both were working when removed from Mk4 Spitfires. I only have a Mk3 at the moment so can't check how they are wired. I wired the bullet connection to the negative side of the coil, the spade to the live on the battery and the spade on the body to earth. I can't get either to work wiring this way and was wondering if I was missing something, like do they need to go through a voltage regulator of is that only for the fuel and temp gauges. Any advice appreciated.Mark
Nick Jones
I always struggle to remember which is the supply and which is signal out of the bullet & spade. However, I think you have it right and what you describe ought to work (provided coil negative is connected to the points). andytr6
Pretty sure the spade is +12v power and the bullet is signal. Connect the signal to coil negative. This was advice from another member that worked for me!
