phil866
Another question, sorry! I will shortly have rebuilt a 1500 spit engine with new everythings (including pushrods) and wonder what engine oil to use? Don't mind the cost too much, if it's not using oil then it will be worth it. Anybody any thoughts on which oil? I looked at www.carbibles.com where it recommends that if I start with one particular type (synthetic, mineral or hybrid) I should really stick to it so I would like to choose wisely.....over to the guru's!!Cheers again. Clive
running in oil to start with, or the very cheapest stuff with no protection if you can't get running in stuff. After that its a matter of taste. I like fully synthetic, a nice 5/50 if I can find it again. But anything that is 50 when hot is good, and if the mileage isn't high basic mineral oils (but quality brands, or at least have a proper specification) will do the trick. You pays your money.........
