Howard81
I know the front trunnions have to be filled with oil rather than grease - is it the same for the rear trunnions on the driveshafts? Also, any tips to easily access the nuts and bolts that hold it to the diff - I need to replace a driveshaft, but luckily I gave the whole assembly I can swap out. Thanks in advance.. Dicky Blighter
Grease in the rears.Bolts in flages to diff are fairl easy to get at - BUT - you do need to be able to turn the shafts to get to them and will only come out in certain places, you must use new nylocs when replacing otherwise they will come loose. Howard81
Excellent, nice and easy then.New nylocks - good point I'll get some.I assume the driveshaft-to-diff nuts have to be undone from underneath? Then undo the shock, brakes, tie bars and finally spring "bracket" to withdraw the unit whole. Is it as easy as it sounds?!?
Dicky Blighter
You got it sounds easy and it is - providing the spring eye bolt isn't seized in. Support the half shaft under the bottom of the vertical link when you do it - takes all the stress out of the bolts and bushes.

Doug Paterson
Grease - correct. But as Ian at Chic Doigs exclaimed the other day whilst lying under my Spitfire ....... DON'T ................ OVER ................... GREASE.3 pumps per year is all it needs, not the (ahem) rather more I'd been chucking in.D
