willcolumbine
Don't you just hate it when you order a load of parts and then moments later you notice something else that needs sorting!? No sooner had I placed the order than I noticed the throttle linkage on the carbs seemed to be missing a few parts!Basically it's the screws that are in the throttle linkage that touch the cams on the choke linkage to give the fast idle. On one side I've got a setscrew and a small bolt and on the other I've got a single lonely screw. According to Rimmers there should be a spring on the manifold side of the setscrew, but no nut. Is that right?

willcolumbine
Hmmm...looks like just the screw and the spring on there! Surely that'd just vibrate off really easily?

gmm30
I think the spring is there to hold the screw tight - the spring holds the screw in tension.

willcolumbine
Got this done today. The springs provided by Rimmers were too fat to get the job done - they were fully compressed long before the end of the screws hit the cam. I had to cut them down by about half and then everything was hunky dory.Got the airflow meter out and balanced the carbs up on the fast idle and now it sounds awesome. Job done!
