Extra fuel filter

Hi All, 

Like D4ren I am putting in new fuel lines from tank to carb on my 13/60 convertible and would like to know is it wise to put in an extra filter and where would be the ideal position many thanks Adrian.

On the Spitfire I run one of this type just before the pump (short section of rubber from the rigid pipe along the chassis, filter, then another short section to the pump)

On one occasion when the car stood for a long time (6+ months) the rubber seals in the end-caps dried out and failed to seal... resulting in non-starting. But apart from that I've never had any issues with this type.

My Vitesse has one of the really cheap plastic ones, fitted exactly where YS describes. It's never caused any problems.

I think the GT6 does, too. I should check.

Exactly the same on my 13/60. I change the filter when the plastic gets cloudy, I then cut it open to see if there are any bits in it.

My 12/50 I have one at the rubber feed pipe from the tank and one in front of the carburettor.
