change of roof

hi

can any body tell me if it is

possible to change the roof on my  1964 triumph herald

from hard top to soft top

if so is there a kit I can buy ?

If you mean you have a saloon, and want a convertible, then not really, unless you can find a Tristan conversion.

Or find a Convertible rear tub, much easier said than done.

I spotted this rather nice Tristan conversion on a Vitesse at the recent Luton Festival of Transport - hadn't seen one before.

Have you considered a Webasto roof? It's probably the best option for getting wind in your hair/sunburnt head.

If you’re brave enough to set to work  with a  jig saw  on your saloon roof and if you can find a frame and a Webasto,  

rocking horse poo  I’m afraid - though they do come up occasionally on eBay

I was thinking brand new, they're still being made, one was fitted to a R5 Gordini on salvage hunters classic cars a few weeks ago. It's surely going to be easier (and probably cheaper) than finding all the bits to convert a saloon into a soft top.

Got the factory cut roof, gratis but no fabric roof etc.

This company will make a Webasto style roof to order,  forgot that I had their business card at the NEC Resto show. think they quoted around £650 . Hope this helps

I have one.  Looks untidy, but when you look closely it's been really well welded in the usual places including the wheel arches - just needs to be tidied up.
