13.25mm socket/spanner?!

I'm advised by Burlen that the correct size spanner/socket for the needle valves in a Stromberg is 13.25mm AF.

Pardon my language, but what-the-f**k?

It doesn't even map to an imperial size (SAE or Whitworth), where the **** do I get a 13.25mm spanner/socket?

I mean, it's taken them so long to reply to my inquiry that I just used an adjustable spanner anyway, but I'm still curious!

Never heard of one 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve got a few old imperial spanners/sockets that are ancient, were my dad’s and he had them since the 1950’s and he passed away in 1991

nothing like that among them 🤔

Could it be a BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread?  No idea what the AF sizes are, but I've never seen a plumber use anything other than an adjustable spanner.

It could be, I thought BSP shared standard AF spanner sizes with SAE etc. though.

I've got a very old and worn 13mm open spanner that is now probably 13.25mm . . .

Sadly (?) I came to the whole metric thing later in my mechanicing life, so none of my metric tools have been used enough to wear to that extent!

That spanner probably goes back to the early 80's when I rode a Moto Guzzi.

Surely this is the moment for another in the "Home-made tools" thread?     14mm spanner, angle grinder and file, and Voila!    A bespoke tool!
