Howard Posted July 12, 2023 Share Posted July 12, 2023 I just spotted in the local news that there has been a serious fire in the building complex which included A&R Pound https://www.thecomet.net/news/23649512.live-updates-baldock-industrial-estate-fire/ From what I can understand the building has been totally destroyed and anyone waiting for their seats to be recovered will have a very long wait. Chriss Posted July 13, 2023 Share Posted July 13, 2023 I went to Baldock on ther business today and took the oportunity to have a look. The whole area is Police cordoned, but I could see as far as Pound's, but not clearly. I have subsequently cross checked with public coverage. Pound's looks like it has been gutted. Even if it has not water damage will be as bad as fire. The whole complex is a scene of utter devastation. It will all have to be knocked down and redeveloped. Pounds as we know it will not reappear there. Fred is a very resourceful man. If he does not want to retire he will be back, but where and when ..........watch this space.
