Painting a late bonnet question.

I'm getting to the bit where i paint the biggest bit of my car now,its also what started all this!
Firstly should i stand it up so the paint flows down the panel?
Should it be painted in sections or in one go?
What do i do with outer seams,should i seam seal them?

Any other advice?

Hi Alex,

If it were me, I would personally have the bonnet positioned in the same way it was on the car. Use a lot of thin coats and allow at least 20-25 minutes per coat.

If you tip up the bonnet, you risk causing paint runs - especially with thicker coats and I have a number of paint runs on my Spitfire where I have rushed it and tipped panels the other way up or applied coats too thickly.
