jacobtns
Hi everyone, longtime lurker, first time poster here. I'm looking at options for the suspension on my 1970 mkII 2000. I'm looking at Gaz front and rear, superpro polybushes (being based in New Zealand they are a lot more accessible than superflex) but am unsure of what to do for springs. The obvious choice is chris witor, but I quite like the look of the monarch progressive springs advertised for the stag and have noticed a lot of suspension components are interchangeable however I'm concerned about weight differences between the cars and whether the stag springs will sit at the correct ride height. I'll probably go for 1 inch lower all around. So my question is, will the monarch stag progressive springs work on the 2000? has anyone done it before? or does anyone have any tips for stuff that works well? thescrapman
Stag springs don't work right on front of a 2000, though 2000 ones work OK on back of a Stag. I have Chris Witor progressive on my Mk1 and the 200lb inch lower on the Mk2 i prefer the latter. Got the 525 on the rear.
jacobtns
Thanks, That's looking like the route I will take. With your set up does that make the front of the car slightly lower than the rear? I'm also a little confused that CW lists the springs on his website as being for 200, 2500, and stag? thescrapman
200 inch lower front and the 525 (?) inch lower at the back. sits nice and level.

thescrapman
Looks like Chris has revamped his spring range. I would ring him up and see what matches what used to be inch lower non-progressive springs. the 205/400 are his current progressive offering. looks like 575 are the rear ones, assuming they are inch lower. Tim Bancroft
James Shackford (Shacktune) does a good set of rear springs from Eibach that work well. I have them on my Saloon, the front has Chris's progressive fronts work very well. I have fitted Koni shock absorbers all round and all is good. james@gnasupport.co.uk
