Flemming
hiI have an early Vitesse 6 with Solex B32 1H carb(without acc. pump) setup. What would be the pros and cons using these carbs compared to the later Stromberg CD150?Beside a better Stromber performance and a simpler Stromberg setup.regards Flemming
andy thompson
Pros... originalityCons... everything else. Why do you think Triumph ditched them.
Deleted User
Unless you're after originality, fitting a Stromberg is all good and no negatives.

Richard B
Excusing my ignorance, is'nt it basicly a 2Litre MkI setup with different needles. (waiting to be shot down in flames by all the 1600 experts) :X
Flemming
hiIt might be 2Litre MkI setup.I am actually looking to localise the necessary changes to make to convert a Vitesse 6 from Solex to Stromberg carb setup. Including cooling system. I'd prefer to do the modification leaving the radiator as it is.Flemming

Bob Bowling
My 1600 has the same set up as above - note the little extension pieces between carbs and manifold
Jonny-Jimbo
Flemming, my Vitesse 6 has been converted to a late 2L with HS6 carbs and a 2500S manifold, but I am still using the original header tank and radiator. They fit in no problem, although the header tank mounts had to be modified to fit properly.
