AMSQ3D
Thinking of fitting a 2.5 engine, gearbox, and overdrive, into a Vitesse chasiss, car will not have a triumph body, so not worried about clearances etc, but which diff is best to fit. Presumably, the 2.5 diff has a different location system, not seen one, the chasiss is built for a vitesse diff, with two bolt locations at rear and rubber mounted wings at front. A mk1 1600 diff definitely fits, but won't be using it. Any help greatly appreciated - Thanks
Clive
I reckon thet the 3.63 is the best/strongest option. As long as you want one that bolts straight in!. 3.27 works well with the 2.5, but a bit weak and too relaxed for some people. Weakness the problem for me, 3 broken in 25000 miles, but the 3.63 holding up well.Clive
Deleted User
Go for a Quaife or Gripper limited slip 4:11. Oout accelerate anything else on the road pretty much with a 2.5 in it, although top speed will be a bit lower. But at least then everyone will be able to sniff it :p
JohnD
A 2.5 has to raise the Q of a saloon or TR6 gearbox, let alone diff., especially if you are making a Special bodied car.Consult the Binman: http://www.supersix.50megs.com/John
Tim Bancroft
You don't want to rev. a 2.5 as torque is the attribute of this engine. Go for a 3.63:1.
