Differential rebuild

Mike papworth has an enviable reputation. Probably available cheaper elsewhere, but riskier.
trouble is, with a used crownwheel and pinion it is not always possible to build a silent diff. However, shouldn't be too loud if set up correctly. I know a local chap and he talked me through how to do it. Sounds easy when said quickly over a pint ;D

Yes, true if its worn out, but new bearings, shim & thrust washers can make a huge difference, the critical bit is the pinion preload setting, but you can make a tool for that for about 1p, heres a picture of my expensive 1-10lb/ft torque wrench, patent pending :-)
