sprint_turbo1
Anyone know of good efficient radiators that can be fitted to a Spit, preferably scrappy sourced. I want a good one for my turbo charged sprint engined spit. Room is limited!
Clive
mmmmmmmmm jenveys methinks 8) VERY nce.anyway, rads. Peugeot 205 (turbo diesel probably the most efficient, the GTi ones are pretty good too) or Golf/polo. VW ones have both inlet/outlet the same side, varies which side from model to medel. Watch sizes, I got one that is too wide from a later golf.
bxbodger
Be careful if you buy a 205 diesel rad from a scrappy-fill it with hot water and check it warms uniformly. if the car you take it out of appears otherwise undamaged it could likely be what sent the car there in the first place. Rads in XUD engined cars were very prone to silting, and with no temp gauge as standard they'd slowly clog up and the motor would boil and die before you knew anything was wrong. ideally they needed to be jetted out annually: standard 205 and BX turbo-diesel survival strategy along with fitting a temp gauge...talk about penny pinching, all you get as standard is a red light that comes on once the car has overheated..... :o
