High Torque Starter probs / fix

last few weeks on start, starters been a bit slow,
went t,ga oot t,day and nowt there, just a click.

thought it were the contacts in the end again, but nope.
it were the top bit, where the  mottor  bit is.

water been getting in, { like it does int bottom bit }
and had corroded things up
butt, the wires had corroded thru too, last bit of starting must,v just finnishd em off.

Not only that, but the rust had med the brushes stick in their odders, so they wer,nt moving either, and there some strang spring pressure on em too.

So good clean up, re solder wires back onto other bit,
an grease up, and its spinning freely and fast agen.

while at it last time, I turned the signal wire odder 180 degs, so it wer,nt facing the ex pipes an always getting fried.

Also bunged a wol int bottom of starter lower body, as it fills up wid water, as original wol is on the side now {in an OE car set up, it be at bottom, but noo ona T, its ont side, follow } and this hole then lets water in, but it cant get oot, so it corrodes all the lower bit to bits, buggers yer contacts up, and the plunger an its hole it goes into
Also burns oot the bakelite backing plate, and seal ont end due to too much current causing heat

it got that hot, it actually melted the ally housing, mek,n power lead wol bigger, look closely, its ragged, till I got at it an welded it up

Note original wol ont side, and a new,n at the bottom, where its should be fora Triump verticly mounted one.

this ring, is contact on plunger, it meets 2 contacts inside
both get corroded away, so its this that generally meks yer starter go Clik clik, an nee start

Worn oot top bit
