Hi Torque Starter

For any one with the High Torquey starters,this may be of some intrest.

A few times gon to car, and starter just cliks, a couple of cliks an its going
today, nothing.

So off it comes, and on the end nearest the ex pipes
theres an end cap, 3 screws od,n it on,
in there, there 2 contacts either side, and a bigg copper washer in the center solonoid bit

The copper washer and the contacts had corroded up. moisture / rust ect.

quick clean up, and vaselined up, and good as new.


BUTTT, where the water come frae, there a seal on end,,bunged some sealant on there for good measure.
BUTTTT, looking at the other end, where its been shaved doon, there were break thru holes, so water must,v been getting in there, and running thru to other end,
hence the fair amount O rust in the solonoid bit.

sealed em up, so hope fully its sealed it noo.

Note, it can be done on the car, screws are only 1/2 inch long. and rest pulls oot.
but I did,nt no what was needed. hence it had to come off.

Butt, 15  odd e,a with no probs frae it. mus,nt grumble.

may be of intrest to some, save ye some loot no tek,n it to a garage.!!
