  1. Hi Chris, I have seen Spa for £299GBP for Spa 01st April via either Javelin or track days.co.uk Not sure I can 01st April now, as just been asked if I want to do a open pit lane at Donington Park on the 27th March, which is two days after Silverstone via MGOT. Be good to see you out in the Saab. My 6 is 1/3rd rebuilt, and should be meaner than before. ! Looking at Yokohama A048rs - 205/60/15. Cheers.
  2. Hi Chris, Thanks for the dates. Just for the record, and funds dependent, I plan to get to Spa this year for a track day. I hope we can get other CT members involved in these track days, ? Cheers.
  3. Hi Mike, I have experience of both Goode Parts and the Dennis Vessey items. Both VERY well engineered and considered fit and forget items.  You should compare them to stock hubs. The Vessey items will handle a reliable 250BHP without complaint.  Most if not all the UK race cars use these. see below link: http://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/CVJ.htm The comparison used here are Richard Goode CV jointed type. Cheers.
  4. Hi Chris, FYI: I may be in the MK1 Golf due to TR6 restoration not quite complete. Cheers.
  5. Hi All, I have since sold my last set. I may know of another set though, but would benefit from blasting and powder coating. Let me know if of any use. Cheers.
  6. I really want to make this, but rebuild will not be finished in time. I had a great time in April. Hope everyone has a great day. On a positive I have just booked Goodwood, and if car completed my name is on the reserve list for Donington in October with MGOT. Cheers.
  7. I have a 2.5 rebuilt engine for sale if interested.  MG pre-fix, complete with head, flywheel and clutch plate and cover. Cheers.
  8. It was a great Triumph race. Josh Files (British Touring Car Driver, 21 year old) won the Jigsaw race in his dads Red TR6.  It was 4 seconds faster per lap than anyone else, and lapped every car. ! Great to see Joe Hendersons old TR6 out there too, with its new owner. It's a shame it broke its diff in qualifying. Cheers.
  9. Hi All, The below is a message from the TR Register forum:- Alan Price's mention of Mark Campbells TR5 in the previous posting has prompted me to give TR Register members a brief history of this incredibly rapid TR that has beaten all or certainly nearly all of the race times set by any previous TR in any UK Race Championship. The car was originally owned and raced By Mike & Jeff Pumford back in the mid to late 1980's in the TR Register Race Championship where it was always immaculatey turned out, as befitted a car prepared and owned by one of the leading TR specialists of the time. However it was never a race or class winner but had reasonable success in that period. In fact Mike and Jeff lent me the car in 1991 when I had problems with my car and I raced it a couple of times including blowing the engine up at Castle Combe in practice and peppering Chris Carters TR5, who was behind me at the time, with bits of conrod and piston!(Sorry Mike & Jeff & Chris again). The car was sold a couple of years later to Joe Henderson who turned it into a very quick and, by now, highly modified and competitive car, winning the TR Register championship outright in 1995 and dominating his class for the next few years. The car was then sold in about 2000 to Chris Petch who had some good wins with it, including a memorable win at Oulton Park in 2002 where he beat Graham Millers, previously unbeatable TR7V8, by a whisker. It was then one of the 8 Triumphs that went over to the USA to contest the Triumph 50th Anniversary race at Mid Ohio where it had its finest hour(so far) and, despite a serious accident in practice,  won the race by a whisker from Colin Pendles TR7V8, in a field of 40+ Triumphs. Chris kept the car for another couple of years enjoying some further success but after a serious accident at Spa the car was sold to its current owner/driver Mark Campbell who rebuilt the car and turned it into the car we see racing today mainly in the CSCC Swinging 60's series. Mark is an extremely quick and capable driver, whatever he races, and it is no wonder that he has beaten as many lap records in the car as he has. If you follow the Touring Car races on ITV4 you would have seen Mark racing in a Scottish Classic race  holding off two 350hp Morgan V8s at Croft a few weeks ago before uncharacteristically spinning on the last lap and finishing 3rd. However there is a young pretender on the scene in the shape of Josh Files in dad Keiths rapid TR6. Josh beat Mark for pole in last years Jigsaw race at Mallory Park but made a bad start in the race and could not close the gap to Mark who won the race for the 2nd year running with Josh matching Marks lap times. If you want to see the rematch come along to see the 2012 Jigsaw race at Mallory on August Bank Holiday Monday.
  10. Hi Chris, When I return to the UK, I will send you money for this event. I return 11th August 2012. Cheers.
  11. I did this back in Arpil in my TR6, and had a great time. My name is down for this one too, but car having a body rebuild, so hope it is completed in time. Really enjoyed the last one. Cheers.
  12. Hi Chris, Looks fun. You like to get my 6 there again. Had a great time last time. Cheers.

    tr6 body tub

TRGB had what looked to be a good USA shell a few months ago, but now sold.  Walter Petchey, imports TRs from the states, and has two dcent TR6 shells last time I spoke to him.  He had a mint one, all in primer with Stanpart panels, ready for paint.  Think circa £7k. Sounds a lot of money, but to have these body shells renovated is big money.  Ask me how I know.  California connection in Ashbourne have a couple of complete cars, but not sure how good they are. All / most panels can be obtained, but work on the basis of two days per side for sills to be fitted properly, and at £50+ /hour, costs soon start to add up. Keep me posted, I have a few spares for TR6s, as my current car is under going a body off rebuild. Cheers.

  15. Hi Colin, Thanks. I had a great time last time. My name is down for this, so should be there, but not confirmed as yet. Will keep you posted. Thanks  for the comments, it was great fun last time, and had a great battle with that 205, 1.9 GTI from TRGB. ! Cheers.
  16. Hi Chris, Currently out of the country and 6 having a body off rebuild, but I will be there. Cheers.

  19. Good evening, I am in the process of having a pair of doors soda blaster, and this should be done within a couple of weeks.  Was also doing to get wings done etc, but now opted for new fibreglass items. Will let you know how I get on. Cheers.
  20. I have had both twin sports and single big bore.  Single big bore is no nosier, but looks and sounds the business ! This was mated to an extractor manifold, both Pheonix items. I have since changed to full race manifold and exhaust system, but Pheonix system worked well.
  21. Hi Colin, I have a person on the TRR forum interested in bringing two cars. Cheers.
  22. Tom......................if car rebuilt by then.....................just take your time on the way to the track........   I always do !  You should see me when I really 'go for it'. Hi Colin, No issue. Hope to produce flames like last time. :) Be great to see the GT6 / Spitfire boys driving in anger again. Cheers.
