  1. Not sure on size, they are available though at least - http://www.canleyclassics.com/triumph-spitfire-mkiii-d-type-overdrive

  3. I thought the Kuga had grained black finishers on the wings etc? Depends if it's in a 'rub' area or on the panel itself. Photos are useful for this kind of question.
  4. Depending on how bad they are some repair shops (a proper motor store, not Halfords), may sell a putty type of stuff that amalgamates with the plastic bumper, but the stuff I've seen before is only suitable for the black grained type of bumper, a painted plastic bumper is a bit different.
  5. Mine will be in the post this weekend - navigator sorted. Going for the idiots option, having never done a 12 car before.
  6. Well, the Lemon broke down on me again - thankfully, outside a friends house. But I think it's now fixed. Junked off the electronic ignition (The adverts read Buy this sh1t, it'll make your car more reliable for ever and ever!), refitted points and condenser. Will find a navigator and get an entry in!
  7. I may well enter this one - hoping to get my Lemon legal in the next week or two after moving house, then if I can use it for work etc to try to prove out the reliability and fix any niggles. The start time sounds good so we could come down just for the event rather than having to stop overnight etc. I'll be in touch Mike.
  8. I believe there is a difference in throttle linkages too as I think the Solex cars had a rod rather than a cable, but I could be confused there. Also, carb spacing is different on them so standard airbox is unlikely to fit (at least, without modification.)
  9. I know that Karl Dandridge at KD Triumph had a factory manifold for a 1600 with the twin CD150s on. This was a while ago though. I think they came off my Vitesse actually when he bought it to turn into an RBRR car. if you're struggling it might be worth giving him a call to see if he's got them.
  10. What are the bearings like in the dizzy shaft? If there is unacceptable levels of wear on the bearing then the arm will 'play' more and could damage the cap. I had it on one of my cars, and as it wobbled it only took out two or three dizzy-cap posts, and only gradually so the problem wasn't immediately obvious.
  11. Link to the photo album - I will try to get some good quality pics to add to the club forum photo album etc too. https://www.facebook.com/andrew.blair.9/media_set?set=a.10153427610720768.504685767&type=3

  15. Hi All, Today has been spent designing an excel document that will automatically calculate teams points and then rank them taking into account mileage if used as a tie-breaker. This will hopefully make scoring a LOT quicker at the end of the event and eliminate errors. I will post the corrected results later or tomorrow all being well. Sorry for the delay.

  19. Right, well this is highly embarrassing. Unfortunately the results have been ranked incorrectly when they were ranked at the end of the day. Although I didn't rank them, I equally didn't check them before announcing them, only one team will technically change place, as all the others are correct. I will take efforts to correct this. I apologise for this profusely, I am very, very sorry for yet another thing to have got buggered up! Equally it shows that if you want something doing right, you do it yourself. I will tie up with the teams in question privately, and repost when I have heard back from them.

  23. Usually these parts would be marked by a sticker inside, which will have long since been lost. However, if they still have mounting brackets etc then have a look for a stamped in part number.
  24. Well, that's it, all over and done with now! Sadly we had three withdrawals; Dicky as above, the Mk2 Escort pulled out with compression issues and the girl in the Audi TT pulled out as her boyfriend was ill. I think everyone enjoyed it, and unlike last years Herringbone, didn't get really pissed off! Sadly, it wasn't a Triumph that won, but at least a Triumph came a close second, and it was mostly the CT teams that did well. One day I will deliver a drivers briefing without fluffing it up totally. You'd have thought after 3 years I'd have worked it out... I guess not. I think my camera man was pretty busy throughout the day with photographs and videos, so we'll hopefully have some good clips to stick on youtube etc. Plenty of photos too! I'll be doing a write up for the mag, but it'd be nice if someone that took part could write a few words too. I think also, unless I can get a better venue, I have no option but continue opening the event up to non-CT teams. As it is the event made a little profit by being very clever with the catering. If I was only open to CT members then the entry cost would have been much higher and made the event less attractive, but I hope that everyone felt they got good value for money even with the slight year-on-year increases. Many thanks again to everyone that took part!
