  1. And there's me worrying about fabricating a new metal deck for an old Hayter motor scythe, just because it has some stiffening channels...... :B   I feel re-encouraged!
  2. New engine mounts don't last..... Find N/O/S items if possible.
  3. I've got those siding pins on the rear calipers on my Trooper. Subject of several threads on the Trooper forum. Extreme fix for trouble free operation involves drilling and tapping the bottom of the pin recess and fitting grease nipples...My n/s caliper is pretty well seized but the pins came out with no problem!

Saab 900 seats in mine.. Forward tilting and heated (when I can be bothered to wire them in!)
  7. I ran my Midge for about 10 years with the Magnetronic unit. Apparently still going well with new owner.
  8. I've got 4 x 948 wheels with dubious tyres (loads of tread but unknown age, they are Czech 155x13 cinturatto copies) The wheels have heavy surface rust, but if anyone wants them they are here in East Sussex  Free to good home...
  9. It may be my imagination, but the hose in the second picture looks too long? I had the same issue on my Estate a couple of years ago, had to cable tie it away. Mot man not impressed. A shorter hose cured the problem...   That aside, are there different length hoses for the Spits to cover the two driveshaft lengths?

I've got the 3.63 in my estate. The rest is 1500 with 3 rail o/d. I've no idea what speed I'm doing, but it seems to keep up with modern traffic. There's more torque in the 1500 and because of that I swapped from 3.89 to the 3.63. I think you might be better off with the 3.89. Cheers, Mark.
  11. Silly question, have you got the right bottom channel on the glass? (handed)

  15. Back in the day...(1966) My Mum used to let me loose on the local disused airfield in her brand new 1200 Herald Estate! (Many thanks, USAF, especially The 100th Bomb Group!)
