  1. I've got a 948 solid prop shaft, free to collect in East Sussex. I believe it will also fit.
  2. Yes, that's my combo.  It does (did, SORN'ed for 2 years now :() struggle a bit on a long climb in o/d top, but I was more than happy with the reduced effort otherwise. I did have the 3.89 diff for a while and this may suit more 'spirited' driving.
  3. Those are cross-ply, might be worth checking the age of the rubber. I haven't looked into the availability.  I think most people have moved over to radial tyres.
  4. I used to have an old airport luggage trolley, liberated when I worked at Gatwick.....Strong and mobile ;D
  5. Yes, you need to keep them on, I had to transfer them from my old rusted out one to my replacement fibreglass item.
  6. What he said... I installed an auxiliary charging relay in our old horsebox. It kept the second battery topped up all the time.
  7. I uprated my flashers for towing and fitted a hazard warning switch, both Hella. I put it down on paper in case of memory loss.... It might help?
  8. I once had a core plug on the front end of a Reliant 750 sidevalve blow straight through the radiator.... Fit new ones while the engine is out for peace or mind.
  9. To save draining the tank, rig up a gravity feed, or pick up from another temporary tank. If it clears, then drain your tank.
  10. Sounds like the pivots are seized. The base should move forwards as the squab is folded forward. You will need fingers like E.T to work on this! http://www.canleyclassics.com/?xhtml=xhtml/diagram/herald1360rearseatestate.html&xhtmlcatalogue=xhtml/catalogue/herald1360.html&category=bodyandfittings&xsl=diagram.xsl
  11. Not sure on your requirements, but do these help?
  12. I should be able to do it tomorrow. It means moving stuff... Taking that photo was a contortion job ::)
  13. I seem to recall having a new capillary fitted to one of my dual gauges by Speedy Cables   http://www.speedycables.com/   Price was very reasonable (about 10 yrs ago ::)
  14. Does this help?  (Ruler edged up to unused rad? mounting)
  15. The bonnet and overiders are off mine at the mo. I'm working this morning but will take piccies and post this pm.
  16. "I think if it's as bigger job as it looks then I might give it a miss just for now and get them to fit as best I can.  Considering the chrome strip lines up door to rear wing, and the swage lines (?) all match up when the doors closed but I have a large gap at th bottom of the door does this indicate poorly fit door skin?" Doesn't a large gap at the bottom of the door indicate tub spread?
  17. When I bought my 'wire' steering wheel for my 13/60, it had two leather covers fitted. Felt very nice. They have both since disintegrated from old age and abuse.  Replacement is on the 'to do' list. I've previously had a Mota-Lita wood rim wheel on another car and found the finish to be less than satisfactory. It didn't seem to be very UV resistant in an open top car...
  18. 2nd one down for me, especially if new leather fitted...like this  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250979589140?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  19. Caster oil in the tank....I used to do that back in the 60's....Thought I was the dog's dangly bits... Mind you, who did I think I was kidding, on a Honda 50 ?   :B
  20. Motor Wheel Services would be my first port of call.
  21. That's a nice job, just what I have in mind...
  22. Here's mine in situ. I really want to get it re-covered with a decent leather sleeve...
