I promise to report back if the oil in my 2000 powered 75 Spit is too cold . I fear that keeping cool may be a bit of a mission .

2hour trip to club meets down empty M6 and M4 from Galway to Dublin. Speed limit is 120 kpm .Then 2 to 4 hrs driving round the east coast .Then 2hours to get home . So 8hrs of high speed driving one day a month. Got the little adaptor "3/8 to 1/2" and got the oil pipes remade at my local hardware yard ,this stuff is std for tractors.(old pipes were dated 1971).

n0 silly not the fly wheel ,the starter ring . ps don,t want to turn the fly wheel round . The previous owner fitted the starter ring backwards on the flywheel. (2000 engine) . I am going to fit a hi torque starter and it was said that it needed a starter ring mounted the other way round but it does not make sense to me.

thermostat or no thermostat, that is the question
bob dunn replied to supergreenmachine73's topic in Engine
I ran for years with no thermostat (mk4 spit) but this was to fix a overheating problem caused by an engine full of rubbish in the water ,this was balancing one problem with another and not the way to plan anything.- 29 replies
