I built my car, 75 spit in 2008 using standard stuff from Canleys, the poly bushes were dead easy in blue and you get a lot of stuff for not much , the only upgrade was better head lights . ps i see some very complex builds still on going . that,s not for me. I,m a driver , not a racer or a perfectionist car builder. 8)

Blue poly bushes are easy to fit and give a softer ride.

Also if you reposition the IV on the badges it can read SPITFIRE MKVI as its now a spitfire mk 6 .

Why ?, I wondered if tecnoligy had left me behind again . The new engine is a bit heavier . I like the idea of a mgbgt battery setup with the batteries down low in the middle of the car . Thats why OK.

I,m thinking of saving a bit of weight in my 2l mk4 spit . maybe two 6v batteries positioned like in the mgbgt ,how light are modern golf cart batteries?

What i was thinking about was that lighter colours might show up the bonnet contures better.

I know this is a silly question but I am fitting a GT6 bonnet to my 75 spit and want to show off the power bulge as much as possible . So what is the best colour for this. 8)

I put an earth wire on to the solenoid and have seen a few on other cars

How was this done . And how was it balanced .I am fitting a 2000tc engine to my spit, the flywheel is 27.4lb (12.4kg) and this looks like a good plan.

My latest MK11 2000 has arrived with a Lumenition system fitted but is minus the 6bladed chopper , who would have one. PS how can I check that its not junk.

All change, got a good Triumph 2000 engine with and overdrive gear box on it in a car for peanuts . So things I think I need . 1 home made prop shaft 2 gt6 exaust manifold and exaust 3 engine plate to move the starter out of the way 4 engine mounts gt6 or home made . 5 radiator gt6,electric fan. 6 oil cooler . Method: body off , engine and box out , new stuff on , body and gt6 bonnet on , down the pub . jobs a gud un. Q : does the Triumph 2000 gear box fit in the spit chassis . I,m sure there is plenty more to this change all help is welcome .

find both ends of a wire and check continuity . this to see if a wire is broken or has become to resistant with age . the two obvious ways to do this is to set a multi meter to resistance (ohm), this will test if the wire itself is broken or so old that it has a high electrical resistance . the second way that i know is to make a simple circuit out each wire in turn , power to one end ,a light to the other and then to body earth or battery. good luck

I got a running car with an overdrive in it . Its the only way to buy one . buy a wreck from the graveyard.
