Ridgetone Triumph replied to sparky_spit's topic in Comps & Motorsport
I will apply for a holiday for the 6th, though this is a pain in the butt and can take up to a week, and then it can be refused I will keep my fingers crossed- 88 replies

Ridgetone Triumph replied to GreenV8Machine's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
'Poo' is super quick and a real tyre burner Ha! I thought the box was heavy, until Mark handed it to me 😀 Things done so far. New UJ's Replacement prop yoke 2 new tyres New quill shaft bearing Gearbox change (that was a waste of time, nothing wrong with the old box) New second gearbox mount New exhaust mounts Modified muffler Cherry car air freshener 😀 New engine oil and filter New gearbox oil New diff oil Rerouted main battery cable to stop banging on the steering knuckle. (waste of time still hits the knuckle) (dizzy) Changed speedo drive Fitted new Kenlow fan switch- 374 replies

Ridgetone Triumph replied to GreenV8Machine's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
Just as well I am doing the 3 counties rally as a pre-pep of 'Poo' for the RBRR cause I found this 1hr ago Now the strange thing is it was driving 🤔 I just knew old 'Poo' was economical 😀 So instead of my usual quick fix I went to the trouble of fitting new and longer 'expensive' fuel line 🙂- 374 replies

I have never taken any spares with me whenever 'Poo' has been on any event, nor tools...................hope this isn't going to be a bad omen Don't worry folks, 'Poo' will be doing the 3 Counties this weekend as a pre run 😉 May even pop into TRGB for their hog roast (on the way to the hotel so not up too early on Sunday) and to show these TR drivers a TR in full dress 😀- 374 replies

Well, so close to being ready and yet so far.................Need 2 new rear tyres, oil change and filter, and looks like I will have to swap the front passenger seat to accommodate a rear seat passenger. Just looked and the BMW seats have 2 inches spare for back seat persons legs to squeeze in- 374 replies

A couple more jobs to do after the gearbox change The extension on the short tail pipe will hopefully reduce fumes entering through the after market tailgate rubber when the windows are open The cross member mounts were long over due.....Like 6 years 😀- 374 replies

I have fitted an SD1 servo to my TR7 V8 taken from my SD1 Vitesse in actual fact I have used the entire SD1 Vitesse brake system through out. I had to modified the connecting rod to the brake pedal and make all new lines but the pedal feels really good and the brakes sharp. 😉

I have had one jammed before (well a few actually), there a pain in the butt, but easily sorted if the lock is unlocked. Press the button in super hard and with your other hand (providing you have some type of long thin fingers) pull the door open. It is the tongue on the lock that doesn't push down enough to clear the catch. Then once open you can adjust it with 4lb hammer cold chisel 🙂

During the war.............No, but when my Mum was running her 2000 (a few years ago 😀) it went through a stage of regular tappet adjustment phase, after further investigation it was discovered that the oil feed to the rocker pedestal was completely blocked. Just a thought, though I know you have a reconditioned engine, it mostly wont be that 🙂
