It will last for ever if you treat it properly, 10minutes if you don't.....Been there done that. You can also put 500hp power through one too, but driven carefully

Ahhh, so you can get repair kits for the pumps, I assume you are talking about the standard mechanical one Colin?? I am on the third pump in 'Poo' I have found the fuel eats up the inside rubber and plastic bits

I think it can be all the above however the latter is what will most likely be done 😀 I remember in my youth trying to take one apart......Vaguely recall it going into the bin, though in those days teenagers weren't renown for patience

Why do you want an electric pump Dave? I have a standard manual pump fitted to 'Poo' and apart from the horrible fuel destroying the plastic filter inside it they work well. They work on modified engines with SU's and up to 165bhp too you know 😉 I have only had to replace it twice in 2years...............or have I answered my question.....Hmmm which reminds me, must go and start 'Poo' up, its been a couple months now since I have even opened a door

I would check the water ways in the block and cylinder head, these do clog up with crap and reduce the water flow. I had a Chev Camaro electric fan fitted to the race car until the weather deteriorated it, I then fitted a Ford Scorpio V6 one and believe it is still fitted to this day. Never had any over heating issues with the car. Poo have a Kenlow electric fan and it takes a good 15+ minutes with no fan running before the temp gauge rises to 3/4 on idle, so I think you may have other issues with why you have hot running at idle?

We are about 30-40minutes from there (carry on along the A141 to Chatteris, we are in Manea Village) depending on the traffic and tractors and if it be a Sunday, 'Sunday Drivers' or Rover 25/Honda's (dizzy) 15 minutes at 2am 😉 You are very welcome to visit any time 🙂

You can use the same plugs, I use Denso W16TT and runs superbly on these. 🙂 Poo lives in Cambridgeshire 😎

Come and take a look at 'Poo' he was a factory PI now on SU's and 2000 badges and has the reminiscent of factory stuff left where an unsuspecting Triumph Guru wouldn't know off..........Steve is now a Guru 😉

What a useful idea, I could have one for the lights too. I have got so used to sitting in the modern jobs and letting them do all the work, that when I get into the Triumph I forget how to drive it.......Well actually reverse it, switch on and off the lights, and park it

I just use my hands though on the odd occasion I have had to drive a screw driver through the filter as PO's like Edward Gorilla Hands tightened it
