Battery isolators are very useful but a lead-acid battery will lose charge over time. Additionally, if you have a modern radio installed it will lose its memory if you turn the power off.

No reason at all why it shouldn't work. Don't know how many amps an accumate puts out but you'll need to use an appropriate gauge cable and fuse to suit.

Looks quick enough to me, a real racer but what about driving it around the centre of Reykjavik in peak hour? What did you decide on for your headlamps?

If those carpets will fit a Mk2 Spit I'd be interested when you come to "get rid" of them. Cheers

4A-GE with a T50 box. Failing that, what about converting one of the new 3 cyl 1 litre ford engines, not much weight in one of those I'd wager.

Take it apart Wim, clean the inside, especially the contacts, and the diaphragm. Mine stopped working, I had to drill out rivets to take it apart but once I cleaned everything it worked again. Just had to get some big rivets to put it back together again properly. Cheers

I'm sure you tried swapping the leads around but just from the picture it looks like swapping the 5 lead into the 6, the 5 for the 1 and 1 for 5 might fit a little better.

Sheepy beat me too it, looks like a work of art ready for exhibition in a gallery or museum. Looking good! I know it has to go into the car eventually but you should take a series of "well composed" high definition photographs suitable for enlarging and displaying. I'll just have to pop up to BrisVegas for a look when she's running.

But isn't rallycross a much different beast to road or track use? Of course, if you can keep both wheels on the road do you really need a limited slip diff? Cheers

Just to be sure, if you carefully nudge a wheel while it's running what happens?

Mr Magoo, haven't heard that name in years, one of my old man's favorite cartoon characters! Mr Magoo would have done a better job covering those wheel arches though, he always came through in the end.
