It works like a charm every time. Just make sure your engine turns in the correct direction or you'll be tightening the bolt. I've used this technique on Toyotas. This technique is a treat to use......it works everytime. You'll never dread undoing a pulley bolt again........it will suddenly become a none event. ;DJust check the rotational direction of your motor......not all motors turn in the same direction.
