donzoh1 Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I just bought a 1974 Spitfire 1500 today for 1,000 US. I think the power train is good, with a few tweaks. As the car resides in the midwest, I expect a fair amount of rust, although curiously, the driver's side floor pan seems solid. It's also red while the car's original color and current color seems to be green. Am I correct in assuming this pan was fitted from a donor car and is not likely the original pan? I had a 1978 Spitfire when I was much younger so I'm excited about the chance to put this one back together. Quote
nang Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 Paint your floor any colour you like...as long as its black 🤓 Tony. Quote
RobPearce Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 It does seem likely that floorpan has been grafted in from a donor car at some point. If it was done well, there's nothing wrong with that. And as Tony says, you're free to paint your own car in any combination of colours that takes your fancy. Quote
