Horn 'Pencil/brush'

Thanks very much for the replies, chaps.....must admit all the period shots I've seen of 1200s, around the time mine was built, only seem to show a hubcap.
Will definitely have to 'protect' this pencil as I think the MOT proper expires on 2 Nov. & she's my main source of transport...(This'll be the 4th consecutive MOT since I acquired her & had her recommissioned..drove her into town yesterday & got talking to chap who'd had one years ago...he fitted a 'long range' Vitesse tank & steering wheel & took his as far as Finland!
Another lady, at the same time stopped to say she'd learnt to drive in one & her husband had bought her a Vitesse after she passed her test.....She's the scruffiest little car on the surface, but it's amazing the memories & nostalgia she evokes, when she's out & about!!!)

Went to Finland in my Herald in 1986, and again in 1991.

First time with Twin 40DCOE Webers, and second time, Supercharged, both times with a 1200 engine and both times with 14" Moto-Lita Steering Wheel, and both times with a Vitesse Fuel Tank.

EPILOGUE...re 'Horn'!!
Good news, folks....She is now the proud possessor of her 4th consecutive MOT!!
(The problem seemed to be the new steering wheel joint at the bottom of the column...having looked up threads here, I was under the impression that the new one (from Rimmers) was all steel! It looked to me, as if it was. My friend who has a unit specialising in old cars/ rally development, is fortunately, also very good on the electrical front. He established that there was a rubber membrane, breaking the circuit. Once this was established & bypassed, the new pencil & horn push worked perfectly & the twin horns sounded more consistent & strident, than they ever had!!!)
Many thanks for all your helpful comments.
Geoff.
PS. If anybody needs any professional work doing, I can recommend his services. He is located in the Staffordshire Moorlands area. 'PM' me & I will pass on details.
