Stuart Wilson
I'm thinking I my treat the TR to a new battery to go with the starter I'm going to get. What battery are people fitting, anything fancy or just what ever fits?
Beans
I'd go for a Bosch Silver S4.023 not overly expensive and so far very reliable (one six years old the other seven)It's Bosch predecessor in 't Kreng lasted 15 years ...

nang
Most batteries will last well if they're looked after....Not allowed to sit discharged for months. kept clean, terminals clean and tight etc.I keep a trickle charger on mine when the car is parked up for a while. My batteries no matter the make last for years.Tony.
Beans
I don't use trickle chargers on my cars and they sit outside or in unheated premises.I do disconnect the battery when I park the cars though 😉
AAC567X
Quoted from Stuart Wilson I'm thinking I my treat the TR to a new battery to go with the starter I'm going to get. You could look at a slightly higher capacity if you live in a dark, cold or wet area and need to run lights, heater or wipers more often. I put a 60Ah on, but had to modify the clamp on the carrier tray to secure the larger item.
JohnD
"Amp hours" is a measure of the total capacity of a battery. How long it will last. For ease of starting a better measure is Cold Cranking Amps, the maximum that the battery can deliver, at 0degrees for 30 seconds. All batteries should state their CCA.John
