cook1e
So Cant see it written down anywhere, but if I remember rightly from the Drivers meet the rally plates are supposed to be Paul DErbyshire TR7 on the front of the car and Nuala Dowie Spitfire on the rear, is that correct? And the CT Sticker on the front door and Huntingtons sticker on the rear door/rear wing etc. I seem to remember on the GT6 it wasn't very good on the rear wing due to the crease in the panel and I usually put both on the doors. Mine are stuck to magnetic backings anyway so can be moved if necessary
Tim Bancroft
Andy, Rally Plates: Nuala on the front, Paul on the back, so to speak. I have to get them all done with low tack adhesive as cars with old or poor paint have issues. Door and rear wing, as you state. cook1e
Oops a bit late now I have Paul on the front and Nuala on the rear, but I don't suppose it will notice that much. Also, there is not enough room on the rear nearside wing of a MK3 GT6 for the charity sticker due to the filler cap, also even on the offside it's not a good fit due to the swage line. Therefore I've done the same as I have in previous RBRRs in the GT6 and put both the CT and the charity stickers on the doors, gives a similar look as the charity one is behind the CT one. PaulB
I would not worry, still looks good. I also put both stickers on the door on my Spitfire as I feel the rear sticker looks messy/cramped on the Spit rear wing. I also stick mine to magnetic sheets from eBay as it’s easy to reposition and I find it doesn’t mark the paint. 😀 Also good souvenirs that you can take off and keep at the end off the event. 🙂
Phil C
Magnetic sheets! Great idea, thanks. I wasn’t too happy at the prospect the stickers pulling off my paint. I’m on to eBay 🙂
Tim Bancroft
They are low tack stickers and as mentioned above, in the twenty years I have been at the helm, I have only heard of one car having paint issues. Magnetic strip is great if flat or slightly curved panels.
McJim
Apply warm soapy water to the metal or magnetic sheets. That way, you can slide the stickers into position and it's easier to push air bubbles out without creasing the sticker. Old rally car prep technique. Jim.
McJim
Also, if you're ordering magnetic sheets, make sure that they are motorway quality or else you may lose them. 0.85mm thickness is the optimum thickness. Check delivery dates on eBay as I have already been let down by one supplier (fadex) and have reordered from elsewhere. Jim
Shynsy
Have also used magnetic sheets. We now have a nice collection in rbrr stickers on the side of our fridge much to my wifes annoyance .. this year i have decided to just use some neodynium magnets to hold the stickers. tim

I actually think they look good there…. Maybe it’s the magnetic backing causing the issues.
Tim Bancroft
As McJim states, soapy water over the panel before applying the sticker is a great way to apply one. One can then move it around, then squeegee any air bubbles out.
PaulB
I’ve used magnetic sheets as you can move/change them and use them as a souvenir at the end. 🙂

Also there is no chance of fitting one to the nearside wing even with the small stickers like the old Macmillan ones on a GT6 as the filler cap is on the wing right where you fixed your sticker. Alex
I can’t see size being an issue Andy 🤣😂
